I have located a birth record for him dated 10th May 1701 in Eastmiddle Cavers Roxburghshire but cant find any information relating to marriage banns. There are some possibilities but without an accurate name for his wife it is difficult to be accurate. I also have a birth record for a George Douglas dated June 3rd 1731. There is no mention of the place where he was born and again no mention of a mother’s name although his father is recorded as John Douglas. If there were any Kirk, Tennant or other records which would help my search I would be very grateful.
